In ancient mythology it was customary for dying-rising saviors and other god-like figures to have virgin mothers who were impregnated miraculously. Some of these legends predate Christianity up to 3,000 years. Such sacred virgins include Neith from ancient Egypt, Hera from Greece and Chimalman, mother of the Aztec savior Quetzalcoatl. The story of Christ's birth doesn't seem to be unique and original that it doesn't seem to be recorded from real unique events either. Thoughts? xD |

the bible was formed by the holy roman empire and incorporated many pagan beliefs to encompass all of its papal states subjects, icons like the celtic cross are an example of incorporation.. But when u define christianity what do u mean?

eg if u jus go by the virgin birth being another story like the others then what of the christians who challenge wether jesus is the son of god, also how jews didnt see him as messiah and too how islam states he was a prophet, they all contradict the madona theory yet uphold christianity despite being sidelined sumhow..

it goes much much deeper than that, most of these religions even Jewish and the other mono theisms have a basis in Sun worship and links to old beliefs that predate them.

like in the case of the death and resurrection which is another common thread in alot of religions. This goes back to and ancient perception of the literal sun. As the earth rotates on its axis the sun get a little less high in the sky till the shortest day in the year to which it stays for 3 days till it starts getting higher again and the day's get longer (the resurrection)
