I almost picked the 603 for myself recently. If I was going to pick between the two it would be the 603.. Mainly because I prefer Symbian to Maemo .. And the 603 is upgradable to Belle fp1.. And idk if you have saw it but its pretty awesome

Even upgradable to fp2. And how sexy is 603? Also lack of quality games might be one factor for him not getting 603 because he is hard-core gamer...

It terms of phones being sexy its nice Gaming.. Belle has some awesome emulators, I have looked at them and they run really good so he could do that maybe?

n900 no contest what so ever. the n900 has a major flaw in the USB port which breaks after some time.

n900 no contest. anyone who says they prefer symbian to maemo are fanboys or never owned an n900. the ui and multitasking cant be beaten. plus you can duel boot android which gives you access to thousands of apps and games. plus the browser is way better than any symbian cr*p (which i find unusable now)

more reasons.. full speed and sound ps1 emulator, mega cd emulator, nintendo 64 emulater. pc like torrent apps, pc like zip manager, pressure sensitive paint app (youtube 'n900 strawberries' great artist on maemo.org) way better messaging app with alsorts of IM intergrated, ps3 pad support for emus, overclockable to 1150mhz, better email app, and so many other useful geeky things that i dont even understand. no devs care for symbian now im afraid. its all about android, and ios. so he should g

Does it charges through usb only or it has another charging port? Also what version of andriod runs smoothly on n900? froyo or gingerbread? what is the main usefulness of it usb port if not charging?

yes only through usb. if it breaks then you either use it offline, bin it or get an external charger and two batteries. lucky my two were in warrenty. looking to get a pureveiw to test with my broken n900. ics works ok as far as i know, i just used the auto installer (stable) think its gingerbread.
