Turns out Nokia doesnt have that large of a cash reserve after all, and due to the rate at which they are burning through it ,multiple credit rating agencies have downgraded their credit rating to junk or close to it making it even more costly for them to borrow money, them selling Vertu is not going to help much either as that is only going for 200million euro, they may have to sell their patents or even sell off their feature phone division.A french bank analyst said that... |

Its sad. This pushes further the speculation that MS may want to buy Nokia, with them needing to depend on MS more and more.

Sony is going to have the same fate. Both are companies which have lived past their expiry date. Nokia market capitalization is around 120billion while Sony's has dropped to only 160Billion!

Is funny how both companies keep on talking about their 'strategic money reserves' :-) Sony is busy dismissing another 10.000 workers worldwide ! Is sad to see them like this but this is life . . .

It is indeed, and at this point, Apple, Google and Samsung are running the show. How the mighty have fallen.

People are saying from years now that BB has gone almost bankdrupt, but it's still alive. In that context, Microsoft buying Nokia is just a silly speculation.

@ polo_011 - 27.05.12 - 07:49pm It is indeed, and at this point, Apple, Google and Samsung are running the show. How the mighty have fallen. Not for so long, WP has started gaining momentum and the launch of Windows 8 will only help to build up a strong ecosystem. |
