I might be exagerrating but you can never compare a golden player with a modern one. Stat wise or not, its unfair to compare them. Terry, imo, is at least one of the best defenders England have had in the last ten years or so. Same goes for Ferdinand, Keown, Campbell. Even King i think is good.

Why not media pundits always compare messi Ronaldo to Maradona or Pele.your right silver Steve bould being another who constantly got overlooked .carragher was a bottle job and did not want to fight for his spot hence why he retired thinking he was better than Terry and Ferdinand and any credit Terry had he lost over that race incident and bottled it as well for his country .now if you was comparing Maldini or Nesta to Moore you may have a debate but not Terry .

Signed Kante. Happy and sad to see this transfer. He will be our next Makelele plus i wished he had stay for another season at Leichester to see how he perform in the Champions League but Kante is making a very good move here.

Don't think he'll be as good as Makelele somehow. He's a replacement for Ramires really, I think he's about as good and just younger so it's not a bad trade.

He was phenomenol for Leichester, how can he be another Ramires at Chelsea? He's a big influence in Leichester run to the premiership.

He was great last season but every Leicester player has to prove that it was more than a perfect storm and run of form. Especially the ones getting big money moves to clubs that expect consistent top drawer performances. I really don't see him being as good as Makelele, that's over egging it a bit to say the least without more seasons like last.

Giaccherini looker massive under Conte, why can't Kante become better? He did well in midfield with Drinkwater, an average chum, and they won the league. He may not be as laid back as Makelele but he got the energy to bring the ball forward, which Chelsea is currently missing. Still remember the city game where he gave Otamendi a hell of time with all those passes to Mahrez. And he's going to learn more from attacking veterans like Fabregas and Pedro.

I didn't say he can't get better, I said he isn't as good as Makelele and he isn't. I will direct you once again to him having a lot to prove, consistency over seasons and still yet to play at the highest levels in Europe. We will see, but I wouldn't be particularly scared of a Matic/Kante/Fabregas midfield if that is what Conte plays, because there is next to no goals from it.
