Have been working with it for quite a long time.... Now I want a solution from u guys.... I have made a large proforma with excel which contains a big number of complex formulas in many cells.... Now I want the cells to be locked so that no one can change/destroy my pre-entered formulas.... Coz it took a week to make this sheet.... Is there any way to lock some selected cells containing formulas?.... |

I'm asking this because most often I become too busy to fill up this proforma at office... But I'm bound to prepare this proforma every week... Now I want one of my junior colleagues to just enter the values in the blank cells, the rest calculation will be done by excel itself... And I'm concerned he can delete some of the formula cells in this process and end up with a wrong grand total value....

@archar.... I've backup, so I'm not worried about deleting or losing the file... Actually, I wanted some1 to do the fill up job for me correctly without tampering my formulas.... Btw, I've spent some time with excel on it and found out the way to password lock the formula cells (or other selected cells)... Thats what I was looking for.... Thanks anyways....

@klif... Thanks man, I've already sorted it out myself... First unlock all the cells then select your formula cells and lock... Now protect with password... It was very simple.....

@w.h.y...... Its of no use for you as it has some complex formulas like ''if'' and chain references including 9 sheets in one file.... It took almost a week for me to arrange the tables are formulas.... I suggest, u better start with some basics of entering simple formula.....
