trying to install windows 7 on new blank hard drive getting error message: BOOT MGR IS MISSING. if you google the problem everyone is saying to choose the repair option on the windows disc or to use a recovery disc but because the boot mgr is missing the system wont boot to the optical or hard drive because the boot manager is missing! any ideas? |

maybe the windows disk you are installing from is damaged

no not damaged works in another computer. also ruled out hardware which is fine.

one site I came across claimed this to be an easy fix but refrained to mention just what the fix was lol

(even tried re-formatting hard drive, removing from system and putting it back. No matter what I try same result hard drive is fine on other computer and old hard drive still works in this system ruling out hardware issue)

There seems to be no way out of this and like ive allready said rescue discs or any other windows discs dont help cos the boot mgr is missing the system wont boot to a bootable disc even though ive set dvd drive in bios as first boot device. Wont boot to hd either.
