Hi. Im attempting to renovate an Apple Mac G5 Power PC. Tower.I Received it without any cables or a hard drive. Iv now got those. But now pretty stuck. Anybody got advice. I need to install hard drive,OS X, ETC. Inbox me please. |

I have put two hard drives in. Conected them, NOT formatted/installed. All i get on the screen is. The small finder icon, with a flashing question mark over it. In the middle of the screen. What next??

Put disk 1 in the cd drive and hold press the power button until computer turns off. Turn computer on and installation from cd should begin

Ok. Got as far as the, SELECT A DESTINATION, screen. But, there are no destinations to select.

Ok that's because you need to format the hard disk. Go up to the menu bar and I think it's in the go menu and select utilities and find disk utility.

Open disk utility and select the hard disk on the left and them select 'erase'. Choose 'mac extended journaled' as the format type, name the disk as something like 'system disk' or anything else it doesn't matter then hit erase. Sorry I'm doing this from memory so the names won't be quite the same possibly.
