Is it possible to create, say a windows 7 professional backup and later when I install 7 again, supposing some virus got in and destroyed the previous one, will I be able to restore from the previous backup, providing I'm using exactly the same windows cd as before? |

Not properly understood what u want.... But you can create system image of the entire c drive and save it in another partition.... Then make a system repair disc... Now whenever your os gets infected, boot from the Sys repair disc and restore whole c drive from the image you saved.... All these are in-built with windows7, so u don't need any 3rd party soft... I'm using this method and I haven't used the win7 setup cd since then.....

Its most likely for some virus to effect your whole hard disc, so saving a backup image in another partition is not the safest process.... Nevertheless, I haven't faced such virus yet, so I'm really benefited by the said process... It saved my time a lot...
