@ norega - 22.10.17 - 10:56pm Why you using such slow ram ? 3200mhz clocked to 3466mhz is not slow in my book lol i just came from 1600mhz ddr3 |

@norega | 22 October 17 | |
i read that wrong . No point clocking ram it just adds heat to your case and only masters in benchmarks. In real world it is pointless

@ norega - 22.10.17 - 11:17pm i read that wrong . No point clocking ram it just adds heat to your case and only masters in benchmarks. In real world it is pointless Yeah i used to try 1866mhz on my 1600mhz hyperx ram but the gains were unnoticable so i sticked to 1600. This time there is a small gain because the 6 core on the 2 channels gets a bit hungry. Overall the speed of ddr4 keeps the 6 core happy in dual channel. I think the 8 core chip rumored needs quad channel. Overall the z370 is a really snappy platform compared to the x299. |

It really is a shame they stuck to dual channel but then again it's a mainstream platform and they have to cut costs somewhere. As for x299 that is a complete joke and rushed out just as coffelake was but seriously unfinished and in comparison. Intel sh*t themselves over ryzen but this is just the beginning,in January amd will update ryzen and rumours say it's going to beat intels IPC . This is a massive deal and will have intel rush out more CPU's and possibly panic them into releasing 8 core mainstream early

This is a massive deal and will have intel rush out more CPU's and possibly panic them into releasing 8 core mainstream early Amd forced lazy intel to stretch there muscles. Its funny how they overpriced everything and are now forced to cut everything down Used to be a 1000 for a 8 core now you get one for half of that. Pushing out quad cores for 10 years like ea dropping out fifa games that are all the same. In the end just as everyone hoped for we have a battle between them and get cheaper more powerful parts. Also the lazy milkers will start to innovate again. Now we need activision and ea get the same as intel did but it is hard when casual ppl go for new number on the part and that marketing bs just to have the latest and greatest without actually demanding a better product. Now we need amd to also bring competition to nvidia. Nvidia otherwise keeps adding new premium cards ontop instead giving us a really powerful card the first place as the xx80. Now you pay the same a xx80 cost for a xx70 and it is 5th in line of performance 2 titans and two 1080s is just ridiculous. If the 1070ti comes as rumored it will be the cherry on top. |

I was fully aware of the flaws of 8th gen and im fully ok with the 8700k just being a 7700k with 2 extra cores. The 7700k was a well polished quad and the best gaming chip. Adding 2 more cores to that is actually great to be honest. Much better than getting another quad core that fails at streaming and other stuff. Im sure now we will see more stuff optimized for 4+ cores.

Wouldnt say its the best gaming chip ,it had the fastest IPC but that was all it really had . We will move away from single core IPC fast now intel have intruduced 6 core mainstream , but the really could have gone 8 core . And the fact that coffe lake would have worked in previous gen sockets is a kick in the teeth to intel customers . Ryzen refresh really is the next big thing in cpu's . If they beat coffelake IPC intel will be forced to rush out 8 core mainstream which will probrably mean a new socket again within the year . Im really tempted to buy coffelake but the price is just way to much for what i would be getting . I have a 5820k with a nvidia k2200 quadro for edeting video/photos and 3d work and a 4970k for gaming and upgrading the cpu on my gaming system really isnt worth it as at 4k as millions of tests have shown there is 2 or 3 frames diffrence . Still wouldnt mind some shiny new stuff to play with . May look out for a used 6950x . |
