@ norega - 13.10.17 - 12:50pm Icelake is due around mid 2018 and will be 8 core but a complete new socket again .Z370 will be probrably the shortest lived platform intel have ever made . Great cpu though and if you do more than gaming its great as you get the best of both . Above 1080p though your old cpu would have been just as fast Would not want a new cpu on the same motherboard anyway it is better to get a new chipset and stuff with the next cycle of cpu. |

Also the m.2 ssd will be great. |

@ norega - 13.10.17 - 07:23pm Post some benchmarks when you get it up and running I wanna see some comparisons Will be running the bench on the h80i cooler first on my 3770k then install it on the 8700k. Will get a h100i v2 some time later. Ultimate goal is to run it at 5ghz daily. |

You will need a very good chip to reach 5ghz . 8pack over at overclockers said they are about 1 in a thousand thus the reason they are selling pre binned 5ghz chips for 700 pounds

Those chips the store ordered in along with mine went quick Now its a week order again. I was stupid to choose a gigabyte board and should of gotten a asus and would of already had the board also For some reason gigabyte takes the longest to order. Now the stores have the 8700 non k versions for sale with the price of what i paid for the 8700k

I must have fallen into a confusing pre-order loop there on the right time to sn*tch the chip with that price I have had luck with that store before. I ordered and paid for a i5 3570k 5 years ago and they shipped me the i7 3770k

Got the motherboard finally. Got it up and running. Doing some benchmarks on stock 4.3ghz turbo 3200mhz ram. Cinebench vs my overclocked 3770k got a jump from 787p to 1415p. The small aio h80i is not ideal but keeps it 72c in prime 95 all cores 4.3 turbo versus 4.4ghz 3770k 90c
