@ norega - 22.10.17 - 12:29pm That board looks insane with all those lights , I hate the plastic shrouds that all new motherboards have over the i/o ports can that be removed . It can be removed with a few scres on the back of the board. |

@ norega - 22.10.17 - 02:21pm what did the whole upgrade cost you . As im still tempted as i can get near 300 pounds for my old kit so sucking up the cost wont be to bad . Can get a 8pack upgrade kit for around 800 pounds around a 1000 euros 900 pounds. Case, psu, mobo, ram, nvme ssd and the cpu total. |

Now i really wish i had a 1080ti the 1070 seems like the bottleneck now. Will wait what next nvidia lineup brings. The next xx80 should easily beat the 1080ti and be able to push 4k with ease.

The next xx80 should easily beat the 1080ti and be able to push 4k with ease. Got a 1080 and the diffrence upgrading from a overcloked 1070 isnt that great . My cpu is nearly 3 years old so that will be my first upgrade ,will skip next gen graphics cards as i always go 2 generations now as the jump is just not worth the outlay as its not that great anymore . |

I am after a new case though ,Have been using Lian Li cases for about 20 years now as being aluminuim they are like a heatsink and are without doubt the best made cases you can buy , expensive but you get what you pay for . |

@ norega - 22.10.17 - 05:43pm Did you just ramp up the clocks for the test ? I got 5.2ghz on my 4790k ran the test then dropped it back to a sinsible 4.8 Used the gigabyte software to dial in 51 to every core and upped the memory also. It auto handles the voltage but it is risky letting that software play with that. It is real 5.1ghz as seen from the score and information in software. It gets realistic if i turn on prime 95 and it jumps to 100c |
