Hi all these are my systems specs Msi b250I pro mini its I3 7100 3.9ghz 8GB crucial ram stick 500GB Seagate hdd with windows 10 home installed 512GB transcend mts600 2260 m.2 ssd installed underneath the mobo Corsair cx430m power supply Cm 130 chassis I recently installed the 512gb ssd which was given to me for free from work,but when I switch on the system to boot it goes passed the bios screen to a black screen that says I must restart the system and select a drive to boot from.... just wondering am I doing something wrong???as I have w10 installed on my hdd ,but funny it's not being picked up/recognised by the system. Do I need to reinstall Windows on the ssd??? All help/advice appreciated and many thanks in advance :) :) :) |

Back up your files. Install a fresh windows on the m.2 that is tons faster. Then use the hdd as storage. Unhook the hdd just in case when installing on the m.2. Also in bios pick the hdd as boot 1 to access your disk before incase you cant later from the new os..

Thank you Alvar,tried the above methods to no success ....os cannot see my hdd,even tried bios but nothing ,loaded linux/steam os even ,worst mistake of my life. Is there anywhere I can maybe format this hidden drive...Thank you

Elevated command promt from running command promt in admin mode. diskpart - list disks - select disk (insert number) - clean - then create one there or in manage disk manager.
