HOLD MY HAND

Hold My Hand
Living in the present, in the
humdrum manicness of life,
hearing the outspilling of
vitriol from the lips of those
around me, aware of the
brush of peoples feelings
around me I feel as though I
must be forced to succumb
to despair, to fall into the pit
of oblivion that waits for me,
surrounded and pounded by
negativity day after day, hour
after hour, moment after
moment. So I have learned,
as trees must, to bend before
the blow, to go with the flow
rather than trying to stand
tall against it. Not to agree
nor to condone it but to
realise and allow other
expression to be expressed,
to relieve their souls without
taking it on board myself as
additional cargo that I do not
need but to allow it to fall
from me like the rain from
the leaves of the trees.
