Imam Mohammed Hanif Khan, sentenced to 16 years, rape and s*xual abuse, Capper street Mosque, Stoke-on-Trent. Imam Atta Ur-Rehman, sentenced to six years in jail, rape of a 12 year old boy, Rochdale. Imam Hafiz Rahman, a year, s*xually assaulting a young girl, Jami Mosque Southsea. Imam Sabir Hussain, due to be sentenced on November 23 2011, child abuse, Keighley Markazi Jamia Mosque. Taher Din, a year, s*xually abusing a 9 and 10 year old boy, Glasgow Central Mosque management Committee. |

An Imam from Wellingborough has been found guilty of sexually assaulting two children while he was employed to teach them about the Koran. Abdul Matin, 41, of Albert Road, abused two youngsters under the age of 13 during lessons paid for by their parents, Northampton Crown Court heard. He denied seven sexual assaults committed over a year, from January 2007 The court heard the allegations had divided the Muslim community in Wellingborough and had resulted in the victims and their families being shunned at the towns mosque. |
