Coming back to the last conversation about OS, I think you can never blame XP and praise WINDOWS 7 as the best OS... Among a lot of pages showing the comparison this is a small example... http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/information/windows-xp-vs-vista-vs-7/ ..... So I think its not good to say mine is the best always....

How can they give 7 a lower score than vista? I have used Vista for 3 years and now shifted to 7. Vista was snail-slow while 7 is running flawlessly in the same pc. Anyway, one may have different opinion but most of the people who have used 7 will give it better marks than xp and vista.

Of course VLC, its the most popular. Or u can try km player or real player. Or u can use k-lite mega codec pack to play all kind of media files in windows media player.
