Qt is currently mainly 4 mac os at the moment...still in development for symbian,meego and windows mobile...could take a few more months

@stef, I didn't call you a Nokia hater, but the people who wrote the article, ofcourse there'll be job losses, since Nokia has decided to focus on Qt as a sole development platform. And as per multiple insider reports on what's wrong with Nokia, there was disguised unemploment in the company. Multiple teams working on similar projects which got approved just because of their 'godfathers'.

@25_08, Qt is a cross platform development environment, works on Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile OSs Symbian and Meego. and there are Qt apps already available for Symbian and Meego. Even available for my 5800.

The decision also brings promise for current S60v5 devices as well. All you need to do is to install Qt on your phone. And voila, your phone is Qt ready, only limited by the technical abilities of the phone.

it's good that nokia are t away the fat, so to speak. a lean nokia is a good nokia. a cynic would say that ots a good way of keeping its symbian enthusiasts engaged so they don't sell their handsets. i like the user experience of symbian 3. it's familiar, yet better. unfortunately, it wasn't enough for me personally. ive had the majority of nokia s60 in all its guises since 2001 so my a

overall assesment has come through user experience up until this point. i opted to try a new os. and i'm very happy with it. i'll return to symbian when nokia are at full strength again.

Accenture will be Taking care of employees of RnD Department of symbian. The process will be over by end of 2011 and the rumour mill here in the company says that the job was outsourced to accenture because of the strong support by microsoft. TCS was the forerunner in the deal till last mont. Infosis and wipro were also considered. Top level hirarchy says that TCS wil be appointed as consultants
