Mr Whyte said the tax case related to a claim by HMRC for unpaid taxes over a period of several years dating back to 2001 which Rangers would be unable to pay if the tribunal went against the club. Now, where is this figure?

STV on the other hand are saying upwards of 60m but I'd imagine thats 49m for the tax case, assuming thats what it is, and the rest being debt owed for players etc.

Not nice to see anyone lose their job. For every player earning thousands a week there's probably three staff on ten grand a year. Not good. Only chance for Rangers now to avoid liquidation is for the taxman to accept a smaller sum. Will they do that though with assets like McGregor,Davis and Naismith. I doubt it. Looks like it's liquidation and having to apply for league membership again, no Europe for three years and downsizing even more.
