HTC smartphones have superior specs to the new iphone but are let down by the 'clunky' windows operating system which isnt as user friendly as the apple iphones interface. At the end of the day there is no such thing as the perfect product.

Now at last the iphone is able to compete in the smartphone war. The first iphone should have had the spec of the new one. Towards the end of this year google are launching a so called iphone killer. At least with another brand your not so restricted in what you can download. You could say the same about windows mobile as well. More compatable apps etc

Looking at it at that angle the iphone isnt a true smartphone due to its exclusive operating system. Pros and cons in life.

You could argue the point of having a slick user interface without a universal smartphone operating system.

Which is why, i personally wouldnt buy an iphone. Everyone is to their own thing. Thats not to say it isnt good, its a fantastic multimedia phone with a great screen and interface, but to me its the phone equivelent of a pc running linux. Ouch i cant get everything to work with it.

This is the advantage with symbian and windows mobile, a common universal operating system with thousands of compatable apps.

A major problem with Symbian is the application quality. Most of the Windows Mobile applications have a much more polished feel and tend to have the advanced features we require in this age of mobile computing . SK Tools, NF 3.5, Resco File Explorer and so on are in a different league from what I can use on a Symbian device.

3 types of digital camera that i know are Compacts, Bridge cameras, SLR cameras. Maybe the iphone falls into the 'bridge catagory' and the HTC is the SLR of the mobile world. (bridge cams often use large ccd imaging chips and high optical zooms but with Fixed lenses, SLR's are the same but with interchangable lenses)
