You may need to open your phones up as there's a small connection plug that comes from the dock assembly to the main board which has a habit of popping off,try searching YouTube as I'm not that great at the description thing.

I have had to do this 4 times now,it is really simple to do.The part your looking for is located in the phones lower left hand corner.

I find it very easy to open(but we're all different).Remove the two screws from either side of the charging dock, using a small suction cup place it just above the home button and pull upwards taking care not to pull to hard.Once the LCD and digitiser come free it's just a simple case of taking care not to remove any other cables which may be connected.

Like I say .....if you don't feel confident in doing it yourself......don't do it,just because I feel confident doesn't mean somebody else should.

Tonight I just decided to have another go, I turned the iPhone on and switched the 3G off, so there wasn't any 3G symbol at the top, reset the phone and whopee! Fill signal, I turned the 3G on and the signal disappeared, so I will keep it turned off, I don't know why this works but ad long as I can use the phone who cares!

Take to apple, 3G reception is a known fault with 3rd gen iPhone buddy, hence if took it back n said about no 3G they'd swap phone, try n see wat they say, worst ul get is offer to buy a new one around 100quid off them

Thanks d4dwg, I might just go up there and see what they say, not sure they could do a lot as I got this second hand as I said.

Not an issue, as it's an apple product, 3G is something they can't fix, but as it's out of 1year warranty, they should offer a:pay to be sent n fixed b;pay around 100quid n get new one, of which then comes with 3month g'tee :) no brainer really

140 golden nuggets is the out of warranty price for fixes which is well worth it I'd say ![]() |

The 140 is the price of the new one if they can't fix
