I've been reading up on blackberry/RIM and just wanted to ask this little question? Blackberry OS underneath its really java right and lots of phone uses java. I've played around with some non-sonyericson and tell you the truth it does what i wanted out of a blackberry, mainly suspending apps and since its java the Berries use then any JVM can run it right since java is made so as not to do |

any reprogramming of the same apps across the java platform thus any JVM can run java. So my conclusion is what is it that makes the Blackberrys such a different phone from other phones on java and do you really consider it be a smartphone.

BlackBerry's top phones like my Bold 9700 has every feature any nokia or SE has...it's a smartphone like no other. I'll never go back to another brand now.

Good for you but you do know that blackberry apps can run on a phone using java, so i'm saying does it make sense to have a bb device from just buying a normal java phone preferably a sony (otherwise from that, the bb has a great messenger, connectivity, nice UI and apps) again, its just java underneath and should run on any JVM ; NB. Different APIs and JSRs needed of course, but none the less its built to run on any JVM, by the way anyone ever tried a bb app on any top class java phone?
