@matrix....if your running Windows 7 try changing to Vista compatibility mode.

to jailbreak 2 ipt 4g's and used the .deb to untether my already jailbroken iPhone 4...no problems to report.

im running vista and trying im opening software as admin but still no luck

seen on google your need to install corona in cydia but cant find that package

Do u have to restore ur iPhone4 v5.1 with itunes if it's a tethered jailbreak ur using at the moment so u can use the new untethered one ?.....and can u back up ur phone to iTunes evin thou its jailbroken as I think I forgot to do it when I jailbroken mine oops lol

Yes you can back up, but it won't back up any Cydia tweaks through iTunes. If you jail broke with Redsn0w you can run it over the old jailbreak but make sure to deselect install Cydia

What dis corona app do from cydia ?.

When I jailbroke my iPhone with a tethered jb I used 5.0 firmware,do I need to use 5.1 and redsnow 0.9.9b8 ?

Latest redsn0w is 0.9.10 I think, you do need to be on 5.0.1 also. Go here to download newest Redsn0w http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

Got that now so my phone is 5.0.1 so do I use firmware 5.0 or 5.1 ?

At matrix get corana from cydia so when your phone reboots you don't need to reboot using redsn0w

What do you mean? You just run Redsn0w or install the corona package from Cydia, both do the same thing

That corona .deb rendered my iFile useless.I just re-jailbroke

using the latest Redsnow without any problems(d*mn that predictive txt being so close to the post icon,causing me to post to early)

Heard of a few problems with the corona package myself mate that's why I advised just jailbreaking with Redsn0w
