Sorry, that was the address where I was going. Indeed the Thing is a great film, even for todays standards. Universal is working on a remake that should come out in 2009. will it be good.. who knows, the last few years a lot of classics have been remade, some of them sucked hard while others were pretty good.

they should have made a sequel years ago.. it was in consideration at one point. this movie is one of my favourites, saw it when i fairly young. Dark Horse comics put out a series called The Thing From Another World.. it was a sequel of sorts. there was plans for a prequel too.. what happened to the norwegians

the story came from John W Campbell Jr's short novella Who Goes There? and that was based on an older story i've read. in that first story the test to see if they were human wasn't a blood test.. it was a sneeze test. he thought that even if something could mimic human form it may not be able to coordinate all it's muscles to perform such an act that we think of as simple.
