If u buy a hp laptop u don't get a windows disc with it, I seen some hp have a cyberlink program that burns a recovery to 3 dvds of its os, but my friends hp doesn't have that it just burns about 25 percent on a single dvd and its complete. Surely that can't be right? |

Also , don't forget to make a repair disc . It only takes a cd , and it backs up those windows folder files that malicous programs like to eat .

the recovery disk backs up windows in its entirety as it is currently installed thus 3 disks/13 gigs but what you realy want is an iso image of the o.s. the 1 you have a key for. m.s. allow image download from there offical distributers so as long as you have a propietory licence (valid key) you can get a copy legaly at no cost.

in answer to your last quaestion veers its a no im afraid... do as i suggested. but when you get the image b4 you burn it, go to your laptops site and get all the drivers and insert them into the image disk in a new folder. this way you have an all in 1 solution on 1 disk. i did theis with my win7 ultimate. i have the windows image an in that i have all my drivers from gigabyte, creative, and ati.

so when i install i just do it all off the 1 disk. it takes less than 1 hour total to get up and running, then all thats left is updates and antimalware.
