I'm looking to purchase a PCI-E graphics card so i can watch hi def movies through my 1080p TV. Could anyone recommend a budget to mid range card ? I don't play games. Also are there any other factors I need to consider such as CPU, ram PSU etc... Thanks for any replies |

Not with bluray movies or some HD movies because of DRM. Why do you need a PC for HD movies and not a bluray player/DVR etc. Any modern PC with a dual core and any modern graphics card will run 1080p video without any problems at all

Then graphics hardly matter. You probably don't even need a card these days, the way integrated graphics are going. However anything low profile, for video you should be able to get with DVI and HDMI out like a 5450

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/252760 heres a link while i was browsing the site just now. this is not a gaming card remember....just video. Its very good at outputting video, good at decoding, low power, low heat, passive cooling. DVI, VGA and HDMI out all on one little card.
