WHILST TRING TO INSTALL UBUNTU OS, I GOT STUCK AT SOME POINT AND HAD TO QUIT THE INSTALLATION SETUP NOW WHEN I RESTARTED MY PC, IT FAILED TO BOOT UP AND SAID ' DISK READ ERROR OCCCURED, PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL TO RETART BUT ITS STILL DOING THE SAME. I DON'T WANT TO FORMAT IT BECAUSE I GAT SOME IMPORTANT SOFTWARES IN IT. ANY HELP GUYS? THANX.. |

Maybe CD hasn't burnt right. You must burn the CD with the image burner programmes

sounds like you have corupted the partition. you may have no alternative but to format it. if you have a copy of hirons boot cd that may be able to recover it for you. but normaly didk read error is fatal for the files on the disk.

for the good start... upgrade BIOS, and replace S-ATA cabel on disk... it may fix the problem sometimes...
