Then don't buy one. I wouldn't simply because I prefer the MBP.

I wouldnt buy any new mac. Poor value for money in my opinion. The entry level macbook costs 900 pounds in the and yet it sports old core2duo technology. Entry level or not, for 900 pounds I would expect a core i5 cpu at the least.

I dont mind paying a lot if your getting value for money but I wouldnt pay near a thousand pounds for a core2duo computer, ridicolous. And if anyone cant see that they are a fool who parts with their money.

Who do you think you are calling someone a fool? If you want cheap cr*p, buy a windows-that's up to you. You do get what you pay for. I personally think that's foolish, but to each their own.

You get what you pay for? Nearly a thousand pounds for a core2duo laptop? I call that a bit of a rip off. You dont pay for tech with apple computers. Your just paying for form factor, a little apple symbol and a peace of aluminium if your willing to stretch beyond the entry level macbook. They are just status symbols and thats the end of it.

Your just trying to convince yourself you have spent wisely when infact you havnt, along with countless others. I would rather buy a high end sony vaio than an apple. At least you get what you pay for and dont tell me high end vaios dont match macbooks for quality.

There is nothing cheap and cr*ppy about mid to high end vaio laptops believe me.

And at least windows provides a far greater library of software than 0SX. My g4 imac wont even stream a you tube clip yet a windows computer of half the horsepower will. A 2004 computer that cant even stream simple video clips at modest resolutions? Pffft. Have you ever wandered what your modern mac will be like in 6 years time? Apple change software too frequently.

How do you know they wont switch to another type of cpu in the future and leave intel users in the dark like they did with power pc users? Ok I admitt its unlikely apple go away from intel, but its not impossable is it? You never know whats in the future. The reality is once you have had your mac for 2 years or more apple dont give a monkeys about you.

One word for you.......VISTA.

@proton | 18 April 11 |
Okay, i agree vista was cr*p. But vista sp1 is great. Sp2 is even better. My aunts pc has vista sp2 and it runs really well, doesnt hog resources. Only uses about 500mb ram.

I c the whole topic has good useless. @pw as suggested it might be your vga adapter or driver gone nuts. Update the driver. Their s no point in discussing mac v/s pc. Mac are expensive than pc (with same specs) just because it got an apple logo on it. Look what it has got under the hood's.
