Hey guys am using microsoft essential for my antivirus is it of any good? Also what else can i put with to protect my laptop against malware spyware etc. Another thing my flash drive picked up a virus that duplicates all the files that i had on it and added some that i know nothing about and i cant open them. it also changed my files from mb into kb. How do i get rid of this, was thinking of reformatting it but i dont want to put it into my laptop and then it got infected so any suggestions??? |

I use Avira (anti virus) and Spybot search and destroy (spyware). They're both free, just make sure you keep them up to date and they'll do the job for you.

Hey hey k1ss4 if u have important data in pen drive dont format it u ill get the data back ok , just use any bootable iso linux cd r ERD commander ok while booting plug the pen drive in laptop r pc then u can see ur folders and files r hidden there just right click and unhide the file and delete the files which are shortcut files same as in kb size and there are some more files too as .exe like vb programed delete it too ur problem will get solvedd same .exe vd programeed file will inside c driv

Get a proper anti-virus install it and do as babin say if you have important files there, and never ever put an infected pen drive again

Spybot is ok. I found malwarebytes to be far more powerful TBH. Its a beast and fixes a lot off stuff Spybot never could

Go download the 'SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition' too. And Of Course, use Avira antivirus, free or paid edition. Use only one antivirus.

hey avira use to delete even a simple infected exe files , sure ur some of the special software may wont work so better use kaspersky r norton but ever AND ever symantec rocks but it makes ur pc very slow
