I've been using my link's well over 3 years now and the sites are still up and running, but yeah some do get closed down if they are reported to have paid apps but most of the sites that don't get removed are just sharing the link, they don't actually have the app/game on the site it's self.

as of right now f-droid.org is the only site i recomend, even before playstore. not a huge selection but their priorities are high on privacy.
