nexus devices have lots of problems with 5.1 I hear. that's to the point that some have become unusable... you would be better off googling than asking us without even mentioning which device you're asking for. it's up-to the individual manufacturers to get it released or the networks if you're unlucky enough to have branded firmware... |

5.1 isn't out for the Note 4 yet, whats out is 5.0.1, currently on my network's BOC3 Lollipop FW and very happy with it so far, but 5.0.1. Lollipop has been a nightmare for Google it seems though, I have also read a lot of negative comments over 5.1, I am hoping the manufacturers skip it and get the next build, although chances are most are working on 5.1 and they will try patch up whatever Google didn't do correctly. Offtopic: I was at a Google SA conference this past thursday, all about Mobile Advertising (running app campaigns in AdWords, GSP making its way back, in-app ads etc...), and their demos were all on Android KitKat phones, many of the guys had Sony Xperias (super weird), think they were Z1s and Z2s, was just odd, not a single one with a phone on Lollipop. |

apart from the memory leaks some ppl are having I've gotta say lollipop is fantastic. I came to Android around ICS time and to me this far more like it for a serious os. ART is great for battery and performance for me, I'm never going back...

I feel the same mel, I'm happy with 5.0.1, especially now that the Silent Mode saga is over and fixed. I updated to 5.0.1 then went back to 4.4.4 for like 3-4days then went back 5.0.1 as I found Lollipop to be a lot faster and smoother overall, it is also a tad more consistent in terms certain parts of the UI. Android before ICS was like a giant Beta test much as some of us loved pre-ICS days, Android at that time was a bit messy, although later builds of Gingerbread to be the most stable versions of Android I ever came across, 2.3.6 on my GS2 was a dream, fast as hell, super frugal and light on graphics. |
