Its not about resolution, AMOLEDs need to have higher density displays or they look more rough/pixelated. Putting my Note 4 next to a Note 3 I notice the 4 is sharper and smoother. There is also the matter of VR where HD1080 looks crap. Anyway, to each their own. For those who see QHD as pointless, there are countless HD1080P smartphones e.g. Huawei Mate 8, OnePlus 3 etc etc....

yes each to their own but its worth noting that most industry experts believe Quad HD is pointless on a screen measuring just a few inches across. as for Gear VR, well thats another topic. the same experts also say 4K is pointless on small screen TVs, because the average person does not benefit. its only when the screens get above a certain size you see any difference. any benefit seen on small screen 4k Tvs has nothing to do with 4k, but merely improvements made in other areas of the panel like contrast, brightness and colour saturation.

Hmmm.... I'm partly impressed by IP68, Iris Scanner, 64GB internal and USB Type-C, but on the other hand, its a S7 Edge with Pen and smaller batt, and slightly larger display. Hmmm... may be time to leave Samsung, Huawei Mate 8 looking good right now, also waiting for LG V20 to be announced. If I do get the Note 7, I'll get that beautiful Onyx Black.

..as you said, there's almost none differences between S7 and Note 7 except that S-Pen?..I've already skipped many of S series (all after S4), Note 5 as well..is that S-Pen THAT worth to buy Note 7 when I've already skipped S7?..I think NO soo crail is right here, no matter how weird that could sound-a Note 4 is solid, stable and one of the last smartphone devices with such (it offers) features*battery out and memo card..LG G4 is the same..good old dinosaur*..

Great to see you Nok! I'm hoping the Note 4 gets Nougat, but I doubt it will, so I am considering the Note 7. The Mate 8 is lovely, but apparently Huawei are super slow on updates. I think LG V20 will be the one to get, LG must just hurry up with it!

I might get it just for future updates when it comes down to a reasonable price, around 400. I don't think it's worth much more than that

the LG G5 meets most of your shopping list targets with dual cameras and removable battery, SDcard support. it's looks fugly though. snap on that BandO sound module and it starts to get creamy .

http://youtu.be/LfGzHmIqbkY say what you like about oneplus but you've got to admit it does well in this test. it's also a true community friendly phone with all the code needed to create perfect roms being released by oneplus to the community. it will have a lifespan well beyond official support, it's only the lack of SDcard support that puts me off.

Think I'm going to preorder it in Black Onyx. Honestly besides the RAM not being 6GB, this phone is the best phablet out, IP68 certified, 64GB built-in mem and MicroSD, Iris Scanner, USB Type-C, and we know the 5.7inch SAMOLED will be the best display around, I'm actually quite happy to get it. I was looking at OP3 then I realised no MicroSD, an average Camera and average display. ZTE Axon 7 seems great but may not make it down here, and they aren't great with updates. Huawei Mate 8 has a weaker GPU, poor update support, display is a stepback from Note 4, and its due for replacement later this year. Think I've made my mind up.

the water proofing/resistance means the loudspeaker will be rubbish, probably the only major downside in top end Samsung's at the moment...

yes a review stated that was the reason for the speaker being weak on the S7 Edge. next year iam going HTC anyway cos iam sick of Amoled and its over saturated colours. my mate had just got the HTC 10 and the display looks far better than my Note 4 no comparison, and its brighter.

The S7 looks better with its screen in comparison to the HTC 10. I've done some side-by-side comparisons with my S7 and my brothers HTC 10.

I think it's all down to personal preference, really.
