@ 3mel - 20.07.21 - 10:42pm What is Pegasus and How Does it Spy on You ? Don't all Huawei phone and devices have something like this inbuilt? I'm not bothered one bit. If anyone is bothered they should downgrade to a sheoite old button phone and unplug their Ethernet cable. |

If anyone is bothered they should downgrade to a sheoite old button phone and unplug their Ethernet cable. the only thing ever said against Huawei, at least the only thing I'm aware of is that they had links with the Chinese government. that alone afaik is the sum total case against them. they offered to show their source codes to the US government but they wouldn't budge. my personal theory is that the NSA wasn't going to be able to carry eaves dropping if they supplied everyone's 5G network infrastructure so they dreamt up a plot to get them replaced. |

Yes, that sounds very plausible. Of course all the American made equipment has inbuilt anti spying feature, so you must buy theirs rather than the 'filthy, infected' technology! |

Lol, there is no good guys in all of this, everyone is trying to make money out of the data they have on us and every government is trying their best to monitor us without being caught, its all a big mess. Tech companies will claim they are improving security of our devices while they create back doors in their OS, governments will claim they are not spying and when caught will claim its to counter terrorists. The problem with something like Pegasus is the intent to spy on someone and potentially cause them harm, think about a President of a country It could be used by terrorist groups to gather intel on countries and communities to target, think of a Fortune 500 CEO, an influencer or a prominent community member being spied on and blackmailed with images and videos of themselves in a errrm compromising position due to Pegasus being in the wrong hands, thats the big issue here.

the makers say they only sell it to governments so in this case they are the danger. there are plenty of other zero day vulnerabilities logged on the darkweb though people say.

Exactly! Very scary times we are in. If someone wants to spy on you they can definitely get it done thanks to the dark web. Security agencies globally seem to be in an endless cat and mouse chase with figures of the dark web. In all honesty it would be best if phone makers allowed us to be able to pull out our batteries, or have direct hardware cut off to Camera and Microphone. Take me back to the Symbian days where the only people who cared about our smartphones and what we do with them were our fellow Smartphone enthusiasts looking to find ways to make certain softwares free. Take me back to the days of cracking X-Plore, Handy Taskman and CorePlayer being a big deal ![]() |

yeah I really hate all the innovations designed to make easy things easier at the cost of swathes of extra permissions. I don't need a phone to anticipate my needs, I want a mobile computer that does what I tell it to do... the end! |

had a horrible moment yesterday evening. I looked at my screen and saw hairline cracks coming from the front facing camera. after an anguished yelp I realised it was the toughened glass screen protector and not the actual phone. still can't think what would've done it though. |

Lol, thank goodness mate! Maybe some pressure was applied on it some time ago? Ive broken at least 3 screen protectors on my phone, one of them I broke a day after getting it put on lol. At least its not the screen thats what matters. |

so glad Samsung decided to go with a very tame Android 12 implementation. I tried a PE12 GSI and stock android 12 is just horrible.

Just got the android 12 update a few weeks back. No drastic changes. Pretty much the same feel. Good that samsung does not change the feel too much.

@ 3mel - 28.01.22 - 04:59pm yeah stock android 12 is hideous Samsung and Huawei (when they were still on GMS) had the most comprehensive android UIs that included things stock Android didnt have. Stock Android is still a few years behind IMO. OnePlus Oxygen OS also had some great stuff while still looking mostly stock. |
