Andrew symonds is living on borrowd time as a test cricketer in my opinion. He is a great, brilliant one day cricketer, but he hasn't been CONSISTANT in the test arena thus far.

It's time for shane watson to replace andrew symonds in the test team. Watson bowls at 135-145kph on a regular basis, and can bat in 2 modes. He can graft out and innings and go the tonk when it is needed.

I'd like to see chris hartley given a go also. Gilchrist has been rather disappointing of late with the bat and the bangladesh series would have been the right time to blood hartley in my opinion.

And the question is how will langer respond to his nasty injured incured at the hands of ntini. Is it time for hussey to open and micheal clarke get a recall to the n.o.5 batting position.

Atleast dan cullen is getting a chance to gain some experience in bangladesh, and how i would love to pump this kid up to be the next best thing, but i wont. He is a firey lad who can actually bowl some good CONSISTANT spells, he is a wicket taker. But all this is like mitchell johnson. They have proved themselves at domestic cricket but have shown nothing as yet in the international level

Im my opinion we need to start looking at replacements for hayden, langer, martyn, gilchrist, warne, kasprowicz and magrath. So far it seems we have hussey who can replace langer and stuart clark who can fill in for mcgrath and take kaspas spot when mcgrath returns. Micheal clarke will replace damien martyn, But who do we have to replace the likes of hayden, gilchrist and warne?.

I don't see anyone in australian cricket at present who are of the same quality of hayden, gilchrist and warne.

The stats show phil jaques is the next best opener, cameron white the next best leg spinner, brad haddin the next best wicket keeper in australian cricket. These guys hardly measure up to hayden warne and gilchrist

This possible future team of hussey, jaques, ponting, hodge, clarke, white, haddin, watson, lee, johnson and clark look like a b-grade team at best. In my opinion, in the coming 3-4 years we are in for some tough times in world cricket..

Another future prospect is cullen bailey, a south australian leg spinner who is doing quite well with his development. If warney imparts some vauleble knowledge to the kid, then in theory we could have 3 redbacks playing in the baggy green.

Where are the young gun teenagers of australian cricket. There hasn't been one since ponting made his state debut for tasmania at age 16. Because of the fifa world cup they are probably out kicking a soccer ball instead of the game of 6 and out backyard cricket. Maybe our reign at the top since feb 1995 is really over.

This domestic summer will hopefully see some new talent unearthed.
