I need help asap! Ive got mcaffe firewall on my pc it came with as a free trial im about to download zonealarm do i delete mcaffe n risk being open to everything while i configure the zonealarm or do i just go for it? |

Download it and save it to your computer while still running with your other firewall, then once its downloaded disconnect from the net. Delete your first firewall, retaining any installation program should your new firewall be cr*p, install your new firewall then reconnect. Your computer will therefore be safe from any unwanted items coming in to your computer.

Zonealarm is cr*p. I hav no faith in 'free' firewalls. I recommend u buy a subscription 2 mcafee firewall as it is very gud, ive neva had any probs wid it.

I dont like zonealarm either as a firewall,it gets triggered of to easy,shows to many false alarms!!Download sygate firewall,its free and works very well.

Just get an older version and put it on your comp, it'll run for a year, and you can just reinstall it to get it working again. Just keep up to date with the definitions lol

Only keygen works on nortons i got the original one 2005 but ma bro used myne and put keygen in n works fine

Why bother with all the third party cr*p? Just use iptables, its highly configurable and hooks directly into the kernel. For windows, xp sp2 fw is good enough.

Btw i have never used ZA free, but used ZAPro. It was good, with the possibility to enter ur own rules. If u find it too difficult to use, you shouldnt use a PC anyway.

I think zone alarm is pretty good, it does its job 4 me, but if your that worried why not just pay and update the firewall u got?

I have Avast! Antivirus installed on my computer. I would purchase McAfee Security as you get all the McAfee security products in that package.

If you got XP it has a firewall anyway... Mcafee is good coz you can trace activity... But who really needs that utility??

ZA Pro is very good indeed. It prevented me from hacker attacksso many times. U have control over every program that might wanna access the net. But FW isnt enough! U also need a tool that prevents malware infiltration. I reccomend AD Watch (part of ad aware professional)
