what are F-17s ? are they the love child of a falcon and a hornet ?

Not an F-14 and not an F-16. I could be wrong just thought thats what they were! Twin tailed swing wing thingies they was! Now that I think about it I think an F-17 is a carrier based one a lot like an F-14. I'm not at home or i'd look it up!

do a couple variants but all F 18s , F-17s lockheeds new hover and fly jet , not sure if thats up and running yet tho.

Loads of air activity here at the moment, been going on for 3 days now. It's the RAF this time. I've seen Eurofighters, Tonka's, Chinook, Lynx and an AWACS. Best of all and a new 'spot' for me, Apache gunships. (blue_thunder.gif).

I was told they're practicing for the olympics but air to ground bombing practice seems a bit extreme for that. Intercepting hi-jacked airliners perhaps but not seen them doing that yet.

i must be under a low level, night flight route. 2 or 3 am, regular, window shakingly low chinooks. Bastids
