its strange yea, many say hey get the best eletric guitar, but those who been playing for years say they can get any guitar to sound good and that its the amp that does most of the work. at times u think is it necessary to buy a gibson les paul standard for 1000, when u could get a copy les paul to sound as good.

Most of the tone,comes from your fingers or the way you use a pick.

Thats where ur wrong dubit. Most of your tone comes from your amp. The way u pick is nothing to do with tone

You could pick as good as mark knopfler from direstraits but that doesnt garantee u great tone

yeah.. the amp and the effects can shape the tone you're getting or trying to get... but the guitar does a part too.. most of the professionals tell you to check out the acoustics of the guitar by playing it without plugging in..

With guitar u get inspired to play but when u sit down to play your mind goes blank and it seems a very long journey.. i guess thats why loads of dudes give up guitar early.. for me it is boring and anoying until u can play the song that inspired u.

ive somewhat given up covering songs of other bands.. it gets boring after awhile i guess.. now im experimenting and learning theory and improvisation atm :)

its not hard once you pass the basiics paulster.. its just that theres no stop when you start learning theory and stuff.. there are a lot of guitar styles you know.. if you study carefully you'll see that different proffesional guitarists in one particular style sound totally different from each other.. so it basically means every time you start experimenting you discover something different that

you didnt encounter before.. with the 12 chromatic notes.. you really cant end experimenting.. if you even get to a certain 'pro' stage in metal and rock or whatever and start practicing jazz... that will keep you busy for the rest of your life..
