Well my neighbour's got a new car, and i have to say, I'm impressed. It's the oldest, most interesting car she's had in the 5yrs I've been here. Last time she bought a brand new Citroen C1. Obviously that didn't last very long, because they're shit. Now she's clearly been inspired by my advice, and looked at cars she actually likes - cue a 10yo Mini cabriolet. This got me thinking. How do you all get about? I live in cycleways town UK. No other town in the country is as bike friendly as here, I can literally use any path. I can't ride inside the shopping mall but that's about it. So I ride a high-performance electric bike, and amazed two lads just yesterday who wanted to see it shift. But MK also has great roads, and car drivers love it. However, our public transport is shyte. Useless. We don't want buses blocking the roads. Walking is great, just mind the cyclists. So I believe your surroundings matter. Still, I recon most of Pro drive, despite the common belief/accusation from some that you're all bums. How do you all get about, Pro? |

I stopped bothering with 'nice' cars when I got dogs. Then I moved out into the middle of nowhere (on a lane that's mostly loose gravel and mud) with a bit of land, so got myself a Discovery. I've got an A4 Quattro S-Line as well, for the times a Land Rover isn't appropriate. I've driven that maybe three times this year, so have a feeling its days are numbered.

I've looked at some of the V6 Audi Quattro stuff, namely A4 Avant and A6 Allroad, after a mate bought an RS4 Avant. The fastest I ever drove was in an Audi 100 S2 Avant at 152mph so maybe that was a factor. But I don't want one. I dont want anything. I have a mind for a classic Range Rover, '80s 3.5 Vogue really, but I dunno. I'd prefer a MK1 Transit. SWB, flat front. |
