Saw most of the rest of Star Trek: Discovery. Also heard that The Orville isn't *just* a piss take of ST, it's kind of a show in it's own right.

Seth MacFarlane is actually a huge fan of Carl Sagan. He donated papers to set up the Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan exhibit at the Library of Congress.

They're doing 15 minute Discovery mini episodes before the new season starts, the first one is called Runaway and it was pretty good.
I liked The Orville a bit better but the Discovery twists are a big pay off.

They're doing a Captain Picard series that has nothing to do with Discovery and has nobody from The Next Generation in it apparently.

I thought that Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors was his last book, but he published that in '93.
