the genius that is Uri Tuchman, the closest I've seen to a modern day Leonardo making his own set of calipers (using a lathe that he also built on this channel). http://youtu.be/qxL72JjhDlU |

@ sisfreak2017 - 25.08.20 - 10:12pm ![]() ![]() When I finally return to work I can make the new battery mounts, then I'll have over 500 of those little bad boys on board - and they're pretty high capacity at 3800mah each, to save weight. They're quite safe, I've been using these packs for years, and have had a few crashes to boot. |

I could do with a couple of lathes, really. One for metal and one for wood. I'm gonna need to convert one of the outbuildings first though, I reckon. |

Yeah, even metal is messy af but wood is insane..

Samsung have some 21700 lithium batteries that leave all 18650s in the dust. the 30T has very little 'sag' after being switched on and can do a continuous output of 35 amps. |

@ 3mel - 21.09.20 - 10:37pm she did it only months after having a brain tumor removed too. They obviously took the brain out with it. She cuts the roof off and says, ''I'm not gonna be able to fit a 4ft board in here, so I'll have to fit a roof rack and put it on that'' Yeah, might as well have saved 30k in depreciation and just done that to the car. |

@ 3mel - 21.09.20 - 10:40pm Samsung have some 21700 lithium batteries that leave all 18650s in the dust. the 30T has very little 'sag' after being switched on and can do a continuous output of 35 amps. They're 3000mah but the 40T are 4000mah... I went for volts over amps with this build, nobody does 96v (people run over 10kw on 72v) but it means running safer loads at the power levels I wanted - the number of cells required just to reach 96v nominal at any capacity can cope with a fair draw on them, add to that there being several cells per set and you can see the amps are well supplied (I think these have a 20-string battery management card) I'm hitting 5kw on just one pair of 48v batteries, they don't like it for long but it's a lot of power for a 20ah pack. But yeah, the more a single cell can do, the fewer cells I need on each string - but spending big money just to lop a cell off each string gets hard to justify when the bike's as heavy as I am.. |
