Seems like as good a place as any to leave this. How Teflon poisoned the entire planet Gee, if only there was some sort of gov't agency for protecting the environment that could help to stop/prevent this sort of thing from happening. Someone should probably look into that, maybe call it the Environmental Protection Agency or EPA for short, something like that ![]() |

@ 3mel - 26.06.23 - 01:45pm can we still talcu m powder ? Talc contaminated with asbestos is best avoided. Pure talc should be fine, although there is a chance it could slightly increase the chances of ovarian cancer in women and long-term exposure has been linked to cases of lung cancer amongst talcu m miners. |

From less than 10'/. of people being affected by cancer in their lifetimes, to around 50'/. of people who will get it nowadays. |

I think the trouble here is that we're all self righteous about s**t these days, but this has been building up for a tad more than our lifetime's.. Personally I think we should all prey to our respective 'one god/gods'to look after us all nicely after the impending excrement to come. That should see us all into the clubs

What was the name of that chemist bloke who inadvertently caused more environmental damage than any other human being in history. Not only was he the guy who invented leaded petrol, causing millions of tons of lead to be released into the atmosphere*, he then went on to invent Chlorofluorocarbons(CFCs) which caused the hole in the ozone layer. * studies have shown that the increased levels of lead in the atmosphere caused by leaded petrol correlated almost exactly with a large and sustained increase in violent crime rates, which as if by magic then began to decline again almost immediately after leaded petrol began to be phased out in favour of unleaded. |
