Split is amazing. I personally wouldn't bother with Dubrovnik unless it's out of season. Can't move for tourists there and I hate that. It's why I've always avoided Rome as well. |

But yea, off peak , right after summer breaks when ppl have returns to school and home and normal everyday life. Thats the trick. September or early October is perfect. |
