I was working in Welfare Rights when the Tories last came to power and can 100pc confirm there was a huge difference between them and Labour. I seen the effects of it first hand. So to say successive governments have been the same for centuries is one of the stupidest things I've read on here.

So it's only taken 200yrs, but finally, being homeless is no longer to be a criminal offence. Quite astounding it ever was. I'm quite sure the homeless have enough problems. The government say it'd be better to help them, instead. Well no shit. |

The government have only done this as homelessness is set to increase with the upcoming welfare cuts. We no longer have the resources to legally deal with smelly,useless homeless people..is their real reasoning.. True compassion would be to offer homes to people. |

Well apparently we'll all be funding a huge social housing programme. Immigrants will also be pulled out of hotels, with promises of that little culture ending. I'm pretty sure these two plans are in no way related. Not when generations have been failed by a collapsed social housing infrastructure, turbocharged by Thatcher selling off the stock. More boats please, we're building - And youngsters paying  2,000 a month rent are funding it...
