May be a fuel problem. Or cud even be an air fuel ratio. Sometimes the computer can't tell how much air to mix with the fuel wen shot into the cylinder

Cud b a few things.. Incorrect float level, dirty fuel filter, fuel pump failure, worn sparkplugs, pointset or condensor. Let it hav a tuneup.

Was the cars timing points all checked with a Timing light? Previous post you said you did a service, you changed filters, oil and sparks.. Did your mechanic prime the fuel filter before installing it? Your old filter was it dirty? The hiccups could be dirt in the tank, it wont be da spark plugs or air filter, if so you'l get low performance.. It could also be the new pump, maybe its incompatible?

I have almost all of the above done but the problem is still there.Tomorrow ill look at the carburator

Sounds more like ignition to me,which is usually a more instant/abrupt power loss. I can see Yugo's thinking behind the fuel filter, trapped air bubbles could cause momentary fuel starvation, but the carbs reservoir would cater for this. Still,a fuel filter is best mounted vertically instead of horizontally.

To prime is kinda like oiling but in the case of fuel filter you fill it up with fuel so as to not get any air bubble trapped in the filter itself, as Mikey explained above about fuel starvation... 1 of the major problems injector vehicles encounter when having air trapped in the fuel line is that it wont start, and can cause hiccups...
