Ben gold kicking off Kuala Lumpur with the expedition theme....a great tune but one I fear that will grow sadly tiresome in the coming weeks

this guy co-ran a record company in the mid 2000s....I'm sure that's wrong because he only looks about 18. He's another rising trance dj receiving a thoughtful push from armin. And what better way to be pushed then into the loving arms of thousands of trance fans on Kuala Lumpur's biggest race course which was lovingly rented out for ASOT 600

sadly, Ben gold fails to deliver anything truly special. its ok but never gave me chills that I come to expect from a truly good set. the best I can describe it is, his set was like 80 minutes of commercials. you watch them but you're not really that interested and you could gladly leave at any point, quite safe in the knowledge that you didn't miss much

moving on, here's something of a rarity, Paul van dyk. I never really hear him much nowadays, mainly because he has lost his touch and lo behold, I was right. his ultra music festival set proved to be predictable, camp and boring. kicking off with his trademark male vocal trance, pvd took us through the next hour delivering many small highs and too many familiar vocal tunes. you find with the dj veterans that big room hits are all they cling onto. pvd has joined the trance scr*pheap

and now the highlight which I been waiting so long for, ummet ozcan live at transmission Prague.....first tune was the boring adagio for strings but with something different....it sounded good and perfectly gave way to a fantastic second tune and third which secures his place in my heart. Fair enough, this set is about two years old, sadly proving that trance is taking a nose dive yet again, ummet ozcan sets are fkin hard enough to come by as it is.

Just heard Marlo set in beirut. Well one thing caught my ears is the interview armin did with john o callaghan. Well john told me armin to not forget about his 'roots', the real trance music. He also said that trance is getting more poppish with more and more house tunes in them. John also said that Armin's track Communication was the tune that make him wanna produce trance music. Poor armin getting owned on his own show lol but john do have a point.

armin's trance is too mainstream but john really can't talk, his sets are getting very big room.. I used to look at him as the next john askew, how wrong I was.

Armin said he gonna play more trancey tracks in miami last night. Well for only 20 mins :( Paul Van Dyk is awesome though, he probably put up the greatest set from last night. Above and Beyond too blow my mind.

here's a classic(or should I say claxxix)that everyone needs to drop what they are doing and look up....mauro picotto's komodo....not the original as it sucked but look for the tea mix...its probably one of the single biggest works of trance art in the history of err...trance. gives me gooseys all the time

part way into the tune after the bird says 'wait please' and the bass kicks in, I always have a pleasant flashback of being lost in the slinky crowd, its 2am and I'm off my t*t weaving my way through this sea of people listening to this tune....I don't condone drug use but I'd love to pop back a decade

ASOT600 Den Bosch starting at 12pm! I'm deffo gonna listen for 11hrs lol and sets that i'm listening to will be Beat Service, Andrew Rayel, Aly n Fila, Armin van Buuren (mainstage set) John O Callaghan, Armin van Buuren, (whos afraid of 138 stage) Solarstone and will end it with Indecent Noise!

Will wonder what armin's will play in his 138 set! Hoping for the classic Communication!

Went to see Orjan Nilsen last week and god, dude is smaller than i expected and his nose is one weird appendage. Is that how norweigan nose is like? Dude has loads of energy and was jumping throughout his set. He play trousey tunes and that 'uplifting' moment came when he drop tiesto's adagio for string! I couldnt lift my arms the next day from all those dancing lol and still fkn mad d*mn club wouldnt let me take photos with orjan :((
