Hi garion, alot of those kinda tracks seem to be widely available on compilation albums, had one on today which ended with Nellie the elephant ironically being as U mentioned it only the other day. There is no substitute for vinyl, but (and I genuinely believe this to have been a conspiracy) when cd came out you suddenly couldn't buy pristine vinyl - every record you bought was either scratched or warped, and the replacements always were too, so eventually I bit the bullet and replaced everything with (inferior quality) cd.

Inferior quality? You may prefer the 'authentic' sound of scratching and crackling but in no way is it inferior.

I really dont think there is a number high enough to count the one hit wonders from the last 30 years. One would need a super computor just for the last 10yrs or so alone.

its a fact that cds are worse than vinyl. cd is compressed dull and anyway they jump. vinyl (especially singles and twelve inch mixes) have the best spectrum of sounds. ask any Dj and they will tell you the same. :-)
