No as in texting instead of writing a text using the normal method u can use gprs which is quicker for receiving and sending texts.

my se p910i gives u the choic but when u change 2 gprs it wont send the txt. i think ts only possble 2 send via gsm unless u contact ur service provider. i know u use gprs 4 emails n mms.

yes its common for nokias to have the option of sending via gprs but i dont think the networks support it cos they havnt found any reason to. considering gprs wap congestion i would think it may not be an ideal way of sending a text anyway. it could even be slower if there is a lot of gprs activity in your area lol

you could send a text using mms! although its expensive i just checked the create message option on my 5140 and it allows no less than a 1000 characters to send in mms mode! wow thats one hell of a text!

if you use all 1000 characters its equivelent to about 6 standard texts (assuming 160 character limit and not long text option) so if you have a lot to say its easier than sending 6 texts at a total cost of 72p and its cheaper actually! (based on texts at 12p a shot. one mms costs 35p on average)

but mms still uses gprs of course. but maybe texting via mms for some people could work out cheaper?

the only downside being you dont know how long the mms text will take to get to the recipicant. oh well just use long text messaging lol

if your sending a long text, use mms, but it has to be to a person you know has the settings, cos if they don't, they'll never get it. For example i can't send one to my girlfriend cos she's got an o2 sim in her phone but has the orange set active cos she doesn't know how to do it, i should really show her... Long texts cost 20, 30, sometimes 50p, and you can never know if they got it all lol
