Opera mobile updated to 11.5 and Mini to 6.5. New features common to both are data usage meters available from the help menu, and the ability to immediately add or remove a bookmark directly from the address bar by touching the star icon. Get them from the market or via m.opera.com Further details on Mobile: http://goo.gl/LxNis and Mini: http://goo.gl/M3jkD

You remember how long we had to wait for Opera Symbian updates? It'd be like EIGHT YEARS or something.. with Android they're every other week..

I dunno @lil kem.. the first thing I've downloaded on ANY new phone is a version of the Opera browser, be it Mini or Mobile - but that was in a time when the standard (built-in) browser of any phone was GUARANTEED to be .. the default Android browser is WELL capable. I'm using Opera from habit really, I'd rather the stock browser could import my Opera bookmarks rather than vice versa..

Yeah, the iPlayer app only works over WiFi - the video clips in the BBC News app play using a normal GPRS connection though incidentally.

Yeah, I can play iPlayer stuff using anything (Orange UK) but the specific iPlayer app DEMANDS a WiFi connection or it won't play - having experienced the bed-wetting amount of data this phone transfers when it's virtually idle, I'm quite grateful...

whats the difference between opera mini n opera mobile web
|
||

@garion | 13 October 11 |
The short answer is that Mini compresses the pages on the Opera servers before sending them to your phone, thus saving on data. A more detailed description can be found at Opera here: http://goo.gl/GCr7X

Now updated to 11.5.1 (18/10/11) bigger, stronger, faster, more legs and stuff.. apparently. Doesn't feel much different to me but there's lots of Honeycomb mentions which you can read in full here: http://goo.gl/LxNis
