Ok yesterday a guy came wit his 02 Bantam 1.8D N/A on a piggyback to our dealership. T. Belts havnt bn serviced nd it dropd few teeth on his way back to joburg. Motor is d nd this guy wants to leave it ere nd take bus tomora. Prob is he doesnt realy hav money to spend nd this is gona be 1 of those cases wer its gona stand for ages in our store.. So a beautiful hammer knock me rite on d head.. |

.. Im gona make him a offer for R12k or R15k nd see if he falls for it.. Ive got sum nice ideas that can take shape in d form of a bantam! Hw does a 150kw compact V6 motor sounds in d nose of a bantam? Reduce weight to 850/900kg nd i cud easily sit wit 160kw per ton! Gona kick sum serious opc nd mps a55 .. Nd that wit n/a.. Also future supercharging wud be of hi priority nd i hav a wonderful feelin

Ive made a few maths today nd this is wot i got: if i cn get d bakkie for 15, im gona need a imported telstar gearbox wit nd a diktator to run ma KL motor. Diktator nd box wil cost me roughly R10k. D motor i got last year nd cost me nutin. Bt il hav to get 1 cyl head done on that baby. Sides haft wnt b a prob as im swimmin in ford nd mazda spares.. Dimensions r as follow. Motorwidth, 720mm..

Bakkies nose inside space between firewall nd radiator fan is 758mm wich is actualy to tite. Bt im sure id b able to move d rad a bit forward. So to get d baby startin is gona cost me R30k. That a freeflow system incl. Not too shabby!

Spoke to ma boss dis mornin, he said he wont mind. Im gona cal dis guy on monday. Body is totaly original, white paint, interior good. Il just hav to get that 14's off asap. Oh 1 otha thing got to ma mind tis mornin.. Im gona need a h.p. Fuel pump in d tank! No prob, il organize a 4.0 ranger pump.. Theyr bout 4,5bar. Wat else..

Custom mountings should be your biggest concern. .The brakes wont survive either. .Are you going to keep the standard suspention?Have you worked out how far the motor has to be for good weight distribution?A nose heavy car aint good for daily driving. .Soo much to think and calculate Xav. .But im sure you have all that covered lol

Bout engine weight.. Im nt sure hw much, bt i tink d all alloy KL motor is a great deal lighter than the 1.8 diesel. Its still a cast iron head nd block. So 1st of al i must get hold of d bakkie nd ma 2nd biggest concern is to sqeeze d KL in d nose of it.
