My brothers just got a v800i when he downloads an mp3 from his pc it plays fine but when he save it as a ringtone it says can not use this file as DRM protection key is missing. Can any1 explain to me why this is?  |

The v800i is tyed 2 vodafone and they program it 2 not enable u 2 use mp3s as ringtones only mp4 format from voda partner sites however u can download software 2 unlock it 2 ne network efectivly makeing it in2 a z800i and alowing u 2 use mp3

well if it will only play a mp4 istead ov mp3. use mp4. its smaller. if u got nero6 on ya pc for burnin cds. that will convert 2 mp4 audio from cd. nero audio itz calld. under save traks

There is also software available that will allow you to create your own secure MP3 files by encoding them with Digital Rights Management (DRM)... Sony Ericsson used to provide such software on their developer Web site, although I think they've removed it (there are plenty of alternatives from third-party companies though)!

I have the DRM packager. Its fab! Now I can have all the Rammstein ringtones I want without having to pay for them :-) I can email it to anyone who wants it - its dead easy to use!
