was the pilot after a whisky? if your gonna crash you try and guide you vehicle into a least populated place. shyt theres water right near it.. pilot error and sad

The heli pad is half a mile from the pub, the pub had flat roof so as much as i hate to admit dodgeys theory could be likely.

Don't discount mechanical failure though. A sudden transmission failure would cause an immediate loss of power, for example.

they're 10 million pounds worth of kit thought they'd be rigorous tests against the posibilty of mechanical failure.. think its the 1st time i've seen a report of a police helicopter crash in years

I read a witness report that said one man never heard rotor noises before the crash. That could mean that the helicopter stalled during an emergency autorotation landing.

We've had electric helicopters for a while now, didn't know Scotland could afford one though.
