i had my iphone jailbreak on 4.0 and was using it..decide to loan it to my cuz and was tryin to delete the contacts but there was over 300 contacts..went to settings reset and figured id reset the media an stuff which took abt an hour then it got stuck at the apple sign and wont move..google an came up with a way to let itunes detect it as iphone in recovery mode..let it restore now its asking |

for a sim with a pin code to activate iphone..took it to a phone tech hes letting me know its F***edatleast for now...its an iphone 3g and hes sayin when it recoverd it updated to 4.1 and thats the problem...hes sayin it can be jailbreaked agn but wont be able to make calls..can anyone shed some light on how i can do this...thanks in advance

He's cr*p. It doesnt work like that. Just restore it again and u should be good to go. However u would require a valid sim card to activate the device again.

If your using redsn0w to jailbreak it activates the phone when it's done jailbreaking

thing is i thought it was just gna have a recover option but it just said recover an update..so when i turn it on now it says to insert a valid sim that dnt have a pin code...im in jamaica an these sims here dosnt hapn to be valid...ive never jailbroaken an iphone b 4...been in s60 world all along...just need to get this phone up agn...so id have to find someone with an att sim or supn?

Well if u never jailbraked it then u need to use pwnage tool from dev team or snowbreeze to jailbreak and activate it, now to unlock...as it's a 3g it can be done but it's a little tricky as it depends on your.bootloader version, if you have an early 3g then u can downgrade the baseband with fuzzyband 5.14 from cydia...if u have the 5.9 bootloader (most likely the case) then I've to wait for an up
